Tournament Time

9:50 PM Sun, Mar 09, 2008 |

So much to look foward to right now. How about a look at where everybody (from Brett Favre to David Padgett) stands?

First off enough BRETT FAVRE talk. Listen, I think the guy is great. Super player, fun to watch, I get it. But he is a human being. Let the guy retire in peace. I've been to Green Bay, I've seen how much the Favre is loved there, and how important the Packers are to that area. But he played 17 years, isn't that long enough. The world will go on.

Now to the basketball. Louisville has a great chance to win the Big East Tournament. They made a lot of mistakes against Georgetown and still had a chance to win at the end. But does worry me, is the fact that David Padgett had zero rebounds and zero assists. Is he getting worn down? This guy has been awesome, coming back from the broken knee cap, now they need him more than ever. The Cards also need to start hitting those free throws, that could be a big issue in the NCAA's. If the Cards win the Big East Tournament, I'm guessing they'll be a #3 seed. Otherwise a #4 is likely.

As for Kentucky..who could have predicted the run they made in the SEC. Some fans were ready to run Billy Clyde out of town, now the guy looks like a genius. If not for Bruce Pearl, wouldn't Gillispie be the SEC coach of the year? I think the Cats are an NCAA lock right now, but another win in Atlanta wouldn't hurt. They'll probably be a #8 or #9 seed, which means a potential 2nd round match-up with a #1 seed. Kudos to Bradley and Crawford for keeping this season going. And how about Perry Stevenson? He's really emeraged as a solid player. Obviously, they need him know with Patrick Patterson out.

Indiana seems like they are in some trouble, but with Eric Gordon and DJ White they can still win the Big 10 Tournament. I just don't seem them getting past the Sweet 16.

Next Sunday we will be filling out those brackets!! Can't wait. Feel free to leave your hopes and dreams for your team in the tournament.
