Planet Red Is Blazing Hot

6:17 PM Sun, Mar 23, 2008 |

There's not much to say about the Cards 44-22 halftime lead over Oklahoma but wow!!! Behind a 19-2 run, and 26-8 run to end the half Louisville leads the Sooners 44-22. What was thought to be a great matchup between contrasting styles has turned into a laugher. Things are going so well for the Cards even Terrance Farley is showing off his offensive skills. He unveiled a wicked jump hook over Longar Longar for perhaps his best post move ever. And if things couldn't get any better reserve Will Scott hit a desperation off balance three at ther buzzer to end the half.

The stats tell the story. Louisville is shooting close to 55% while the Sooners are only hitting 33% of their shots. THe Cards press has also given Oklahoma fits. They have nine turnovers and routinely have trouble getting the ball up the court. This has easily been the Cards best half of basketball the entire season.

Only 20 minutes left to go until the Cards make their first trip back to the Sweet 16 since 2005.
