Late Night Favors Wildcats

6:52 AM Fri, Mar 14, 2008 |

The Kentucky Wildcats got a gift in Atlanta Georgia before they even set foot on the floor. Thee Ole' Miss Rebels and Georgia Bulldogs battled into the wee hours of Friday morning for a shot to face Kentucky in the second round. Ultimately Georgia won it with a buzzer beater in overtime 97-95 at 12:33am.

This is exactly why teams work so hard to get a first round bye in the Conference Tournament. Winning late Thursday, late Friday, early Saturday and early Sunday is nearly impossible.

Kentucky will come into the game with fresh leggs and on a roll. The 'Cats have won 11 out of 13 games and will get a scouting report from the coaching staff Friday morning at a shootaround. The players watched the Georgia Mississippi game from the hotel room, Billie Gillispie and is staff watched most of it in person. Coach walked past us and out of the arena late in the second half. The video tape crew captured the final moments of regulation and the overtime for a scouting report.

Gametime is 9:45 Friday and Big Blue Nation is here in Atlanta and ready.
