The news that he's out for the season with a stress fracture in his ankle dramatically changes the chances of an NCAA tournament berth for Billy Gillispie's squad. ...My friend Rick Bozich of the C-J is buddies with Western Kentucky University basketball coach Darrin Horn. But that doesn't mean Bozich knows what he's talking about when he speculates that WKU deserves a bid to the NCAA tournament even if they lose in the Sun Belt Tournament. ...Kelvin Sampson blew it. He's a good coach, given a chance to lead one of college basketball's most storied programs. He's lucky he got to keep the job considering his first brush with the NCAA. But he just couldn't resist dialing up those recruits and trying to gain an unfair advantage.
