After a three hour drive (which really should have been two and half, but man that construction on 65 is a bear) Wade and I have arrived in Nashville, home of the Music City Bowl. Over the next few days I'll be dishing out the details of our every move. There's no time to rest for the weary. As soon as we checked into our hotel it was time to catch up with the Cats. Dave and Buster's is the meeting spot, as Kentucky and Florida State match wits on the pool table, arcade games and whatever else you can imagine. The players seem really loose. I spoke with Keenan Burton, Corey Peters, and E.J. Adams. Adams, a sophomore cornerback is a pretty decent pool player. He outdueled Seminoles quarterback Drew Weatherford, beating him with two balls left on the table. I tried my best to get Adams to talk a little smack, but he didn't take the bait. He wouldn't even say the outcome of his match with Weatherford on the pool table was a telling sign of what's to come. Come on big fella give me something. The highlight of the night had to be Burton flipping the script. He wanted to be the reporter, so I told him I had to be the star wide receiver. Needless to say after the interview it's obvious Keenan should stick with his day job. (Just kidding Keenan.) But that was the mood with the team. Loose, enjoying the opportunity to play one more game. They admitted they'll dial in and completely focus on the game in the next couple of days, but for now they're letting their hair down. Check out WHAS-11 News 11@11 on Saturday for more on the how the Cats are enjoying their Nashville trip. For now I'm calling it a night. Out. |
