My Head Hurts

11:36 PM Sat, Nov 10, 2007 |

My head hurts!! I was looking at the tie-breakers in the SEC East, trying to figure out any way Kentucky could still make it to the title game in Atlanta. Sorry, but I think they are out of luck.

That's because Florida beat South Carolina. It was the Gators last SEC game, and they would own the tie-breaker with the Wildcats thanks to that win at Commonwealth. If the Gators had lost to the Gamecocks, and UK beat Georgia and Tennessee, I believe the Cats would have slipped into the Georgia Dome. Regardless, UK can turn a good season into a great season if they finish with wins against Georiga and Tennessee. They really need to win at least one of those two. That could get them to a New Year's Day Bowl because the Big Blue fans travel so well. Did you see the UK crowd at Vanderbilt Stadium. They owned the place. It was a sloppy game against the Commodores, but give the Wildcats credit for the 4th quarter touchdown drive Keenan Burton's long kick-off return was huge. And then, the UK defense for holding at the end.
Poor Rafeal Little, this guy always seems to get hurt. At least UK fans know Derrick Locke can play. It will be tough to win at Georgia. The Dawgs have scored 40+ points the last three weeks. Tennessee is playing better these days as well. But their three losses have all come on the road, and they gave up more than 40 points each time.
