There was no shame in a close loss on the road at Kentucky, that's why I was surprised at all the heat on Coach K. But now there are serious problems.

Syracuse came in as not just a bad team. They were a REALLY bad team. They were 0-3, ranked 116th in the nation in scoring offense (less than 11 points a game).
101st in total defense. 1-13 in their last 14 Big East games. But they looked like the defending conference champs, and Louisville looked like the winless team. It was really hard to believe. First play of the game, another blown coverage? How is it possible on the very first play for a receiver to get that wide open. Same old story on defense, poor tackling, miss assignments. The secondary needs to be completely re-worked. The offense ended up with big numbers, especially Brian Brohm and Harry Douglas. But in their first 9 possessions of the game they scored just 7 points.
Mario Urritia had a nightmare of a game. I can't recall ever seeing one player singled out with boos in his own stadium before. Especially a player who is from Louisville. But let's face it, Mario had a rough day, the drops, the penalities. We finally saw Coach K getting in peoples faces. And what was the deal on that muffed punt by Cory Goettsche? How could just ignore trying to down the ball and let it keep bouncing past him toward the Louisville endzone? He got called out by Coach K and benched.

A program that thinks of itself as a player on the national scene doesn't lose at home to Syracuse. I was surprised how many fans left so early, considering how quickly the Cards can score. They almost came back. But the game wasn't as close as the score.

Good bye home 20-game home win streak. Good bye Big East title, good bye Top 25. We will really see what this team is made of now. And as for Coach K, we will learn a lot about him too.

I still believe Tom Jurich is the best AD in the country and hasn't made a bad Coach Hire yet. Let's give Kragthorp a little time before we burn him at the stake. Please remember people were saying the same things about Pitino last year.

Why did Coach Kragthorpe wait until about the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter of the fourth game of the season to start using a wider variety of receivers? Wasn't it a wide-open style of football we were led to believe he would bring to Louisville?

Cassity a defensive coordinator? You've got to be kidding! Wasn't he fired by UK?

UL's defense looked bad in the spring practice opener. They looked just as bad in the first two games. What were they doing all summer long?

This looks like Ron Cooper's coaching with John L.'s penalties. And in the UK game Bob Weber's can't get the play in on time. Note that in each game the performance has gone down from the previous game. Note that three different quotes came from players about not being prepared and not practicing hard. I had a bad feeling when they all professed so much love for Kan't Koach early on. That seems to be because he and his staff aren't driving the players to work hard and learn. Football of all sports demands the most emotion but it also demands disipline. I see neither emanating from this team and that is on the Kan't get it done Koach. I believe the new stadium plans will not be how to add 20,000 seats but how to remove that many.
