I realize fans have come to expect a lot out of the Louisville football program, but the backlash against new coach Steve Kragthorpe is ridiculus. He's coached 3 games. Let me say that again. He's coached 3 games... I agree the defense is out of synch. They've looked lost at times. I also agree the effort against Kentucky was lacking. But did those who are bashing Coach K stop to think that maybe UK is actually a good team? And how about losing Amobi Okoye, Nate Harris, and William Gay to name a few off last year's defense. Those guys are all in the NFL. It's not so easy to throw new guys in there and expect the same results. Louisville is number one in the nation in total offense. I'd say that's pretty good for a new coach. I know what some of you are thinking. I'm making excuses for Kragthorpe. No, I'm just saying let's wait to see what happens the rest of the season. Let's see if the team gets better. When he took the job, he knew the high expectations. He gets paid a lot of money and he can take the criticism. I don't mind fans being upset, but how about waiting a few more games before passing judgement. Remember, the great Bobby Petrino lost four games his first season. His team also blew it in the 2nd half against Rutgers last season. They looked lost on both sides of the ball in that game. And Petrino is a genius right? 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

No credit goes to coach K for having a no 1 defense. That's from last year. I personally had a bad feeling when Jurich looked no further than his buddy to replace Petrino. I was right. He's taken a great team and demolished it. Ruining perhaps the chances of Braun, a great young man who gave up the NFL for a chance at the national title. No more limelight Card fans. We've lost our chance at the title and probably a bowl game. It's unexcusable what coach K has done to this team and frankly it's also down right embarassing. I fear there is worse to come.
Watching Kragtyorpe's football team brings back memories of Ron Cooper. He's predictable, and his defense doesn't defend, it chases. This guy is in over his head. After watching losses to UK and Syracuse, and a near loss to MTSU, He should can his defensive co-ordinator, and teach his players some discipline. Just like in the Cooper years, the players continuously commit stupid infractions. After turning the corner with Petrino, Jurich has finally made a bad hire in Coach K. I'm afraid the downward spiral will continue!!
