Cupcakes, pushovers, weaklings, whatever you want to call them..when you open against a 1-AA opponent it's really just a glorified scrimmage. Louisville and Kentucky both start the season by stepping down to the 1-AA level and I don't like it. What do you really get out of playing a game like this? Murray State (who plays Louisville on Thursday) and EKU (who plays Kentucky Saturday) will come away with a nice pay day and hopefully all their players still in one piece. But for the Cards and 'Cats it's not like you can make any judgement from games like these. I credit the two coaches for doing their best to make the Racers and Colonels sound like world beaters. Steve Kragthorpe even brought up 1-AA success stories like Jerry Rice and Tony Romo. C'mon, a couple examples doesn't mean these teams will be able to put up a fight. Especially Murray State. Not only are they 1-AA, but they were 1-10 last season. In week 3 the Racers play a team I've never heard of...LAMBUTH? I've been covering college football for about 15 years, and I've never heard of Lambuth before. If you went to school there..don't e-mail, I mean no disrespect. But we are talking about major college football. So when the dust settles and the Cards and 'Cats win by 30 or 40 or more, we can move on to the next games and then the season can really start. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Well, hopefully both of the cupcake teams will make kentucky/louisville look bad so they don't try this next year. I went to EKU but I am a UK fan, but I am rooting for EKU in this game. And murray in the other game!
