'Cards Return To BCS Bowl Game

10:17 AM Thu, Aug 23, 2007 |

If you thought last year was great for the Louisville Cardinals, just stick around and see what happens this season.

New coach. New offense. New schemes. So what. The 'Cards have talent on both sides of the ball and should return to a BCS bowl game. Here's my breakdown of their upcoming season.

Louisville 99, Murray State 0
Why is this game even being played.

Louisville 52, MTSU 10
The Blue Raiders played with Louisville for about a quarter last season. Brian Brohm is healthy and this game will be over after a quarter.

Louisville 34, Kentucky 31
Shootout in Lexington. 'Cards win on Art Carmody's game winning field goal.

Louisville 44, Syracuse 13
Orange already looking forward to basketball season.

Louisville 30, NC State 14
Wolfpack ended 2006 season on seven game losing streak. No match for Coach K's crew.

Louisville 35, Utah 21
Coach Kragthorpe gets revenge against the team he lost to in the Armed Forces Bowl last season.

Louisville 31, Cincinnati 20
Bearcats make it interesting for a half, but 'Cards keep the Keg of Nails.

Louisville 38, Connecticut 17
Huskies don't fare much better than they did last season, when they were trounced 48-17.

Louisville 37, Pitt 21
'Cards send Dave Wannstedt packing.

West Virginia 42, Louisville 39
The best game of the season. Mountaineers out to prove they lost last years game, Louisville didn't win it.

Louisville 28, South Florida 24
'Cards pick up big road win in a very difficult stadium to play. Revenge for 2005's 45-14 beatdown.

Louisville 32, Rutgers 17
Scarlett Knights not nearly as good as they were a season ago. No mental lapses for 'Cards in this one.

11-1...trip to BCS bowl game as an at-large team.

Let me know what you think.
