August 2007 ArchivesCupcakes, pushovers, weaklings, whatever you want to call them..when you open against a 1-AA opponent it's really just a glorified scrimmage. Louisville and Kentucky both start the season by stepping down to the 1-AA level and I don't like it. ...If you thought last year was great for the Louisville Cardinals, just stick around and see what happens this season. ...Contrary to what another Sports Blogger on WHAS11.com has to say, the Kentucky Wildcats will finish the regular season with a winning record. ...Now for the Cats..will they be bowl eligible again..read on and find out. ...Time to bet the farm on my fearless predictions for the coming season. I'll start with Louisville. ...The Kentucky Wildcats have the opportunity to prove last season was not a fluke. The 'Cats 2006 schedule was tailor-made for a bowl berth. Let's be honest, when you have Texas State and Louisiana-Monroe on the schedule, you better contend for a bowl game. ...When Bobby Petrino took the Atlanta Falcons job he called it the best job in the NFL. Expectations should be high for this team but a national championship? Not so fast. ...It's almost time for high school football season and once again we will have "cheerleaders of the week" live in the studio every Friday night for the big show. They will show off their school spirit and get to perform a cheer during the live broadcast. So be sure to tell you favorite squad to give us a call at 502-582-7256 and reserve your spot! It was a big success last season. ...I wouldn't have a job if hype didn't exist. A lot of what we do is talk about the build up to games and seasons. Heck..we've spent several weeks now talking about the start of the college football season for the Cards and 'Cats. This year is different because UofL and UK don't start things off in week 1. But the hype still exists. ...As a lifelong fan of the NBA, I hope it survives the latest scandal. On Wednesday, former NBA referee Tim Donaghy pleaded guilty to two felony charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and giving up insider information for the purpose of betting. ...That's what Falcons quarterback Michael Vick must be saying to himself right now. With dogfighting charges hanging over his head, the news got worse for Mr. Vick this week. I'm not here to talk about his innocence or guilt. I'll let the court system handle that. ... |
