Days after Democrat Governor Steve Beshear dismissed Republicans' proposed constitutional amendments on expanding gaming as "cynical" politics, Beshear appointed a Republican Senator to a judgeship, thereby removing him from the Senate, and potentially weakening the GOP Senate majority. CNHI News Service's Ronnie Ellis offers an unvarnished view of the political moves, questioning if a judgeship should be above such maneuvers. Yes, Williams and Thayer are playing politics with their amendments. But the governor and Democrats are in no position to criticize them for that. |
