WKYT-TV is reporting that thieves have been stealing copper out of the light poles on highways around Lexington, but Kentucky Transportation officials failed to report the thefts to police.

Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Chuck Wolfe tells WHAS 11 News that "three months seems like an unreasonable time frame" to file a police report. Wolfe believes it was just an oversight by staff in the Fayette County office, which has had a recent change in leadership.
