Former state Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert is facing a complaint from the Executive Branch Ethics Commission. The commission is accusing Nighbert of failing to publicly disclose his ownership in Double Buck L.L.C. as he was required to do when he was Transportation Secretary. Double Buck has been mentioned as a conduit for possible illegal bribe payments to Nighbert after he left office. Nighbert is facing federal charges for allegedly helping road builder Leonard Lawson get inside bid information from the cabinet in return for Lawson or his associates providing consulting work to Nighbert's company. |
