Great. Now we need to seriously cut spending so we can start paying pensions to everyone who left and be prepared to pay for those who are still around.
Let's repeal prevailing wage for starters.
And this would be just a start of the where the Fletcher Administration wanted to take us. Not only were they (Fletcher’s Admin) cutting the payroll they were cutting the expenses as well. If we are to ever have a sound budget it’s going to take someone to look into our correctional system and stop the gro-tess out of control spending that goes on there. It is a shame that the second largest expenditure in the states budget is correction with the largest being transportation. We spend more money in corrections then we do in education. The General Assembly must enact legislation that would reform our whole justice system from the ground up starting with the penal codes, going through out the AOC and finishing at the DOC. There is no way to save money with the way the system is set up today.
