This is a strange one. A Louisville father has shot a video that he's entered into a contest to win free gas for a year. The video features his 3-year-old daughter telling congress to "drill now, pay less." Here's the e-mail from the dad to the media, telling folks how they can vote for his video: Dear valued members of the media, I wanted to share a story with you folks. My little girl, Ireland Greene, is starring in a video that is a finalist in a contest to win gas for free for a year. There were 30+ submissions, and she is one of only three finalists. Voting should start some time today, and I would love to share that a local Louisville girl is being featured nationally. The video was submitted to the group called American Solutions, which is chaired by Newt Gingrich. The video is part of the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less initiative. The video was made available online through a combined effort from American Solutions and YouTube. Voting was supposed to start yesterday, but was delayed, and will run until this Saturday. Her video will be shown live at the "Solutions Day 2.0" event as well. That annual tri-party (republican, democrat, and independent) conference is held to discuss topics of importance that cross party lines (gas prices, education, etc.). The event will be broadcast on Dish Network as well as Direct TV as it occurs, and therefore, a local girl will be on national television! Voting will hopefully be here: http://www.americansolutions.com/General/?Page=110ddecc-631c-4aa5-b1dd-de5df63b82f5 later today. Right now, the video can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqnqrRnqvk0 I don't know if this is newsworthy or not, but this is how a Daddy and his little girl got involved in the gas-price issue from right here in Kentucky! Anyone can make a difference! |
