By Joe Arnold, Several college students from Kentucky are in St. Paul for the GOP Convention. They attended a Harvard University forum Tuesday where a crew from WHAS11's parent company caught up with them. Meaghan Mercer, whose mother is a delegate from Owensboro, attends the University of Virginia. She is excited about Sarah Palin, "Really inspires a lot of conversation. I've see this a lot among my college peers, there's just a lot of conversation I think that's what this country needs." Shane Noem is a Western Kentucky University Political Science Major. "McCain is just a great American hero. He knows what this country is all about. He knows we can do better, and he's got the plans to make us better." Allie Hembree is a WKU student from Shelbyville, KY. "He hadn't convinced me to vote for him until he nominated Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential potential nominee. And I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for.... As soon as he picked Sarah Palin, I was on the boat to vote for him." |
