Economic Development Secretary quits

Kentucky's Economic Development Secretary is resigning. John Hindman of Louisville says he's quitting to pursue other interests.

Hindman told WHAS11's Mark Hebert that he enjoyed working for the people of Kentucky and was proud to make educational improvements the cornerstone of Kentucky's future job creation efforts.

Hindman was the leader of the team that crafted deals to keep the Ford plants in Louisville open. He also worked to keep GE Appliance Park open and landed an electric car plant for southern Kentucky.

Hindman was hired by an independent board while Governor Fletcher was in office and has not worked as closely with Governor Beshear but Hindman insists the decision to leave is his own.
