A state board has approved up to $48 million in tax incentives for a Shepherdsville-based company that wants to build electric cars at a new plant in Franklin, Ky. Integrity Manufacturing's applications to KEDFA calls for construction of an $84 million plant to be built on a site in the Wilkey Industrial Park in Franklin. Integrity says the factory would make electric cars and employ up to 4,000 people within four years. The average salary is expected to be $20/hr. Integrity officials did not return several phone calls today. But they admitted last week that they do not yet have a written agreement with the ZAP company to manufacture and distribute the small electric cars in Kentucky. The company will only get state incentive money if it actually builds the plant and hits employment levels mandated by the agreement with the state. |
