McConnell Has New TV With One Legit Claim, One Bogus Claim

Mitch McConnell is staying on message, continuing to attack Bruce Lunsford on gas prices. The latest McConnell ad says Lunsford "wouldn't open a single acre" of land to more drilling. McConnell's cadre of omnipresent videotapers have obviously failed to their job mission because Lunsford has been saying for a couple of weeks that opening up more areas of ANWR and off shore to drilling should be part of a more comprehensive energy policy. It's a false claim in McConnell's ad. But that ad also accuses Lunsford of favoring an increase in energy taxes. Fair and true. Lunsford supports the democratic party plan to place a profits tax on oil companies.

Lundsford is a typical liberal. More taxes more.... more spending.....he would rather send our fuel dollars to the middle east to fund both sides of the war....
than keep them at home...where they could do US some good.

He wants a gas tax holiday and says the oil companies should pay for it with a windfall profits tax. That would not get passed onto the consumer...or people would go crazy since they're already making record profits. What is wrong with that?

RR... does that stand for Rich Republican?

Mitch McConnell is a typical conservative, or worse, a card carrying member of the conservative administration that has put this country in a hole.

It would speak to McConnell's character if he would leave this mud slinging to the PACs and run on his record. If you don't have something to run on after 24 years of service something is wrong! What happened to the clips touting his record and the bipartisan support that he was getting through out the state? Why does it seem that we Republicans preach our morals and yet we’ll stoop to the lowest degree of character assassination? If there is a place for mud slinging, it aught to be at the hands of the PACs not the candidates. If we’re better then the dems like we say we are we need to act like it!

RS, morals, ethics, and representation of the people are long gone I'm afraid. It's become more of a "that's my story and I'm sticking to it" and "all's fair in war and politics". Regardless of the lie or distortions, stay the course and people will eventually except it as the truth, even when they know better. Mitch McConnell(either a Bush clone or a Bush wannabe- I just haven't figured that one out yet) is a master of this art and simply knows how to convince people that they're stupid to question his rhetoric and outright lies. I'm not saying this because I'm a liberal or that I think the Dems are much better. I'm saying it because it's the truth.
