The poll shows McConnell leading Lunsford in the U.S. Senate race 52%-40%. McConnell led by just 4 points in the same poll 8 weeks ago.
McConnell leads Lunsford in every region of the state except the Louisville area where Lunsford enjoys a margin of 50%-44%. McConnell has picked up support from women (52-41) and voters over 50 years old (55-38). Twenty six percent of the likely voters in the poll say they could still change their mind before election day. The poll did contain an oversampling of voters who identified themselves as republicans (39%).

The same set of likely voters now favor McCain by a margin of 55%-37%. McCain is leading Obama in every region of Kentucky except Louisville and 15 nearby counties where Obama is leading 49%-45%. Obama is struggling among Kentuckians who identify themselves as democrats. McCain is pulling 34% of the voters who ID themselves as democrats. McCain is even leading among voters under 35 years old.
