The Courier-Journal has found an FBI affidavit which claims Kentucky's biggest road contractor, Leonard Lawson, paid a former state highway engineer $20,000 to leak confidential bid information to him. The affidavit claims former state Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert also asked engineer Jim Rummage for bid information and that Nighbert may have also been getting payments from Lawson. Here's more from the Corbin newspaper. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

Perhaps the bigger picture here is not your defense of the "Fletcher Administration" but the facts that have been published in three newspapers . . . and sure more publishing to come now that the story has legs.
To attempt to defend this kind of action is groundless. If I read the news articles again, it will AGAIN, show some very unethical, and troubling FACTS about the way ERNIE FLETCHER allowed the Transportation Cabinet to award bids to 'FRIENDS, DONORS AND THE STRONGEST POLITICAL STINGER IN EAST KENTUCKY.
I wonder if this investigation will examine how PAUL PATTON funneled the multi billion dollar contracts to LAWSON. Big donors DO NOT GIVE, WITHOUT EXPECTING SOMETHING IN RETURN.
So UNINFORMED keep reading the news in the media and be sure to check the blogs as this story is going to be THE STORY OF THE CENTURY.
I sure wish this investigation will also go back and check some of the contracts awarded to LAWSON while OTHER DEMOCRATS were serving as GOVERNOR.
Finally, the fuse has been lit . . . now lets see how large the explosion.
Not doubt about it uninformed . . . The Feds have the evidence. Now it is just a matter of time as to how wide spread the investigation. An investigator that finally has some docouments and this action has been needed for years. I would summarize this investigation is way to big, to be able to be swept under the table.
Is the SENATE PRESIDENT involved in any of this scam . . . It looks very troubling at this point especially with the lawbreaker getting a job from the GOP Senator.
How many PIGS will squeal . . . just to say out of prision? We will see.

Gaddy's Shamrock in Adair County also used to receive a huge number of bids from the state -- in return the Gaddy's also provided Fletcher with campaign money. Sound fishy?
Lawson just bought Gaddy's Shamrock in Columbia... it all sounds fishy to me!
