| Barack May Have Pushed Expectations Too High For Big Speech »
In a WHAS11.com video briefing with Joe Arnold, Republican strategist Scott Jennings explained how Barack Obama "stands a very good chance" to win the popular vote, but the electoral count will come down to Ohio. Watch the interview on WHAS11.com (I have to get Hebert to coach me on how to insert links to the video). http://www.whas11.com/video/political-index.html?nvid=276644 Jennings says with big popular vote margins in populous states like New York, California and Illinois, Obama will likely make up the 3 million vote margin George W. Bush enjoyed over John Kerry. Meanwhile, Jennings sees John McCain winning the states George W. Bush won in 2004 by smaller margins than Bush. Of course, the margins don't mean diddly to the electoral college. Meanwhile, Jennings believes the election will come down to Ohio and its 20 electoral votes, saying it's 90% likely that the winner of Ohio will win the presidency. John McCain is expected to introduce his running mate in Dayton, Ohio on Friday. Jennings says in McCain's "heart of hearts" he would choose liberal Senator Joe Lieberman as a running mate, but Jennings says political realities probably have narrowed McCain's choice to "odds on favorite" former challenger Mitt Romney or Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |
