People with ties to companies controlled by road builder Leonard Lawson or his family gave about $100,000 to candidates in the past couple of election cycles, according to an analysis by the C-J's Tom Loftus. Apparently, a number of the employees in those companies are pretty well paid because they could afford to write $1000 checks to candidates, bundling those checks on the same day, according to the C-J. |
