The chairman of the House Education committee is looking for a job in the State Education Department, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. Rep. Frank Rasche has applied for a job with the department that lobbies for legislation in front of his committee. I think Rasche is one of the more honest legislators but everybody else see the problem with this one? Can the department say "no"? If they do, will they get a fair shake in front of Rasche's committee? If they say "yes" and he gets the state job, will the Ed Department get special treatment from his committee?
