Anne Northup doesn't have the power she once had when she was a member of the House Appropriations Committee, but she's still got enough friends with deep pockets to give her money for a campaign. Northup outraised incumbent congressman John Yarmuth in the second quarter of this year. Here's the release from Yarmuth's campaign: Yarmuth Reports Over $1 Million Cash on Hand (Louisville, KY) Congressman John Yarmuth 's (KY-3) re-election campaign reports $1,001,636 cash on hand in its July FEC Report. The $363,661 raised in the second quarter brings the campaign's total election cycle fundraising to $1,456,789. Adhering to a 2006 campaign promise, Congressman Yarmuth has not accepted any money from corporate Political Action Committees (PACs). Reflecting Yarmuth's growing grassroots support, more than a quarter of the campaign's individual donors were first-time contributors. "With over $1.4 million raised so far, a double digit lead, and a ton of enthusiasm to keep Louisville moving forward, we're right on track for a big victory in November," said Dan Geldon, Yarmuth's campaign manager. Yarmuth's Second Quarter FEC Reporting Totals Second Quarter: $363,661 But Northup raised $500,000 during the same three month period and would have raised more than Yarmuth even without her PAC contributions, which totaled $74,000. Northup has $819,000 cash on hand, almost as much as Yarmuth.
