Brett Guthrie has begun ads on some radio stations in the 2nd congressional district. And just like every other politician, republican and democrat, Guthrie's pitch is built around high gas prices. It seems to be the only topic of discussion in political races so far with both sides trying to convince voters they have the silver bullet to spare us at the pump. Here's Guthrie's release:

"Brain Dead" radio ad discusses comprehensive energy solutions

(Bowling Green, KY) State Senator Brett Guthrie, the Republican nominee for Congress in Kentucky's Second Congressional District, began advertising on radio stations across the district today. The ad discusses Guthrie's views on energy and high gas prices, while introducing his background and experience to district voters.
"We can't have economic security until the United States eliminates its dependence on foreign oil, and we must lower the price of gasoline using domestic resources," Guthrie said. "Many in Washington are stuck in partisan gridlock, and it's time for leaders who will act in the best interests of all Americans."

In the ad, Guthrie refers to those in Congress who refuse to expand domestic energy production as practicing "brain dead politics." Recent public surveys show the number of Americans who want Congress to expand domestic energy production is dramatically on the rise.
"People are tired of rhetoric instead of answers, and tired of inaction instead of problem solving. I intend to do something about it when I get to Washington," Guthrie said.

Guthrie's radio ad discusses a comprehensive solution to the American energy crisis - expanded domestic production, increased conservation, and greater investment in new technology, including clean coal technology.
"The U.S. is sitting on vast resources that Congress prohibits us from using. Our country needs to take control of its energy future, for economic and national security purposes," Guthrie said.
The ad also highlights Guthrie's resume as a leader, reminding voters about his education at West Point, service in the 101st Airborne Division, and experience as a manufacturer and job creator.
