Governor Steve Beshear has appointed a Louisville political consultant and media buyer to the Kentucky Lottery Board. Larry O'Bryan replaces Jim Sullivan who has resigned.
Sullivan was appointed by Governor Fletcher but became controversial when Beshear appointed him to the Crime Victims Compensation Board. That's when critics questioned Beshear's decision to appoint a person convicted of a misdemeanor to a crime victims board. Sullivan had pleaded guilty to attempted jury tampering in connection with the 1990 trial of his friend, Jerry Lundergan.
