Thieneman Picks Up Support From Opponent

One of Chris Thieneman's opponents in the GOP primary race for 3rd District Congressional seat, has decided to bail out of the race and support Thieneman.

Corley Everett says he and Thieneman will be holdings a news conference Monday morning to announce that Everett is endorsing Thieneman's long shot campaign against Anne Northup. Everett says he's listened to Thieneman and Northup and believes Thieneman is the only one who "gets it" when it comes to the economy. Everett doesn't believe Northup understands that folks are hurting right now, saying "she doesn't even acknowledge that we're in a recession."

Everett says he's filing papers to make sure any votes for him aren't counted on election day. It's too late to get his name off the ballot. The only independent poll on the GOP primary was done more than a month ago and showed Northup with a huge lead over her three opponents. Bob Devore is the fourth candidate in the field.
