Kentucky Republican leaders are demanding an apology from Kentucky's democratic governor for a remark he made, insinuating that President Bush getting shot would be a good thing.
The soon-to-be-elected head of the Jefferson County Republican Party, Brad Cummings, says Beshear stepped over the line with his apparent joke at a democratic fundraiser on Friday night. "I can think of only one Republican who can be a problem-solver," Beshear told the crowd. "And that would be Vice President (Dick) Cheney, if he will just take George on a hunting trip." Cheney accidentally shot a friend during a quail hunting trip two years ago.
Beshear's spokesman, Dick Brown, says no apology is needed because the governor's remark was "all in good fun." Cummings says he realizes Beshear intended the comment as a joke but he says nobody, including politicians of the opposite party, should joke about the President of the United States getting shot. Beshear is on vacation this week, according to this official schedule.
“All in Good fun” would be Ted Kennedy chauffeuring Steve Beshear and Daniel Mongarido to and from the next upcoming Democratic rally. Hopefully on the way home he can go by and show them “Dike Bridge”. Then we would all get to hear Jennifer Moore complaining about Governor David L Williams. Mark, that would be a great day in the Commonwealth!
