I just read the headlines for today's news here in Louisville, Kentucky where Obama was at a Rally today. The headline stated that Obama will receive very little support due to the "color of his skin" here in KY.

I am an independent 31 year old white female. And I am embarrassed and shocked by this. I have followed every moment of these primaries. And like many other people my age, can't remember being remotely this interested in past elections. I am not from Kentucky, but moved here 6 years ago and have enjoyed every moment of living in Louisville, KY until now.

Has America not moved past race or gender? Is our country not in a state of crisis where we can at least rally together and say that we want the RIGHT person in office. To base your choice of candidate on race or gender...we are in a state of crisis that will not allow us to move forward.

The headline was not only a disgrace but not even accurate. I registered a few months ago as a Democrat so I could vote for Obama in the Kentucky Primaries on May 20th as I intend to do.
