State Senator Tim Shaughnessy is expected to be appointed to a new job tomorrow as head of the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute in Louisville (nice catch by reader).
The Cardiac Innovation Institute (CII) is a joint venture between Jewish Hospital and University Hospital in Louisville that promotes research on heart issues. The Institute has a budget of about $3.5 million a year according to a spokesman at Jewish. The CII board is scheduled to meet Wednesday afternoon to appoint a director to succeed Ron Greenburg, who is retiring. Shaughnessy has been employed by Jewish Hospital for more than 20 years. He wouldn't speculate on his expected appointment. Neither would a spokesman for Jewish Hospital.
