His spokesperson calls it "a big deal." It's not that big. But U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford is expected to get the endorsement of a guy who dropped out of the Senate race earlier this year. The Lunsford campaign has scheduled a 10:30 news conference in Frankfort, apparently to announce that Andrew Horne is endorsing Lunsford's bid for the democratic nomination and right to face Mitch McConnell in the fall. Horne is a Louisville attorney who lost to John Yarmuth in the 2006 democratic primary for Congress in the 3rd District. Horne planned to run for U.S. Senate this year but jumped out of the race when he realized he'd have trouble raising the kind of money needed to battle millionaires Lunsford and Greg Fischer. Lunsford is way ahead of Fischer and several other candidates in the first Survey USA/WHAS11 polling on the senate race. |
