The Kentucky Republican Party thinks the republican-controlled State Senate did such a great job, and Governor Beshear and House Democrats such a lousy job during the legislative session, that they're using it to raise money. Here's the e-mail that went out to republican supporters from the Kentucky Republican Party: The latest Survey USA poll shows Gov. Steve Beshear's approval rating plummeting! Only 38% of Kentuckians actually approve of the job he is doing as governor. That's an 8 point drop in just one month - and 24 percentage points since January! It seems Beshear's failed leadership during the legislative session has caused an overwhelming number of Kentuckians to changes their minds about him. See the poll for yourself... WHAS Political Blog: Beshear's Approval Rating In Free Fall And, it's not just Gov. Beshear who's struggling. The political infighting among House Democratic Leadership certainly contributed to the failure of this session (Herald-Leader story). Even Lt. Governor Dan Mongiardo slammed House Democrats saying it all "came down to egos of legislators who were more interested in themselves and self-promotion than they were in the betterment of Kentucky and Kentuckians" (KyPolitics.org story). In fact, the only thing Gov. Beshear and House Democrats managed to agree on was raising taxes! Thank goodness for the Republican-led State Senate who worked tirelessly to protect taxpayers, the rights of the unborn and to reform our struggling pension and education systems. We need more principled leaders like these committed to putting the good of the Commonwealth above their own interests and political agendas. Help us defeat those who failed Kentuckians during the legislative session - and help us protect those who kept their eye on the ball and worked hard to move our state forward! We need your support today!! |
