The candidates for federal offices must have their campaign finance reports in to the FEC by the end of the day. The latest to put out a preemptive news release is Reid Haire, who's running for congress in the 2nd District. Haire didn't loan any money to his own campaign, according to his campaign manager.
Reid Haire Raises over $200,000 in First Quarter
(Owensboro) Today, the Reid Haire for Congress Campaign filed its First Quarter Financial Report with the Federal Elections Commission. The report shows that Haire's campaign has raised $203,098.57 through March 31st of this year.
"To have raised over $200,000 in less than eight weeks is a testament to the commitment and work ethic of Reid Haire. This demonstrates that he is the only candidate who will have the necessary resources to win the Democratic nomination and to be successful in November." -Tim Shock, Campaign Manager.
