Well, Bill Clinton certainly hasn't changed much. He was a little late for his first speech of the day, then talked for 55 minutes instead of the allotted 20. He glad handed and signed autographs for another 30 minutes before leaving Frankfort around 12:45 p.m. His next event, an hour away in Paris, was scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. Some other notes: About 1600 students from Franklin County's two high schools attended the Frankfort rally, pushing the crowd well over 3000. The Civic Center holds 7000. Two students told me they expected to be bored by Clinton's speech, but weren't. Kids these days must be able to text message and pay attention to policy speeches at the same time. Clinton didn't give a rah-rah speech. In fact, if the goal was to rile up the crowd to go to battle for Hillary Clinton, it didn't work. If the goal was to reaffirm to the pro-Hillary crowd that she's got the experience to turn the economy around, get us out of Iraq, get health insurance coverage for every American, push alternative energy sources and restore America's standing in the world, then his speech was a good one. Clinton met for 45 minutes behind closed doors with Governor Steve Beshear. Beshear came out of the meeting saying he and the former president talked about the national political scene. Clinton also asked for Beshear's support. Beshear is one of 5 uncommitted superdelegates from Kentucky. Beshear says he told Clinton he was uncommitted and could still be swayed to support either Mrs. Clinton or Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention. Beshear says he hasn't determined when he'll announce his choice of a candidate and says it won't necessarily be swayed by the way Kentucky democrats vote in the May 20th primary. I asked Clinton supporter and superdelegate Terry McBrayer how much Hillary Clinton would be hurt by her lie, mistake, misstatement, whatever she wants to call it, about facing sniper fire as she landed in Bosnia in 1996. McBrayer says voters aren't paying any attention because "it's 12 year old news." Uh-huh. Just like statements made by Obama's preacher a decade ago won't affect his standing with voters. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

Mark,
I don't know what planet McBrayer lives on, but here on Earth, Hillary told that grand lied, Bosnia just LAST WEEK. She told the same grand lie in December, in late February, twice on March 17.
Hillary Clinton has lied about NAFTA during the Ohio election. Newly released White House documents indicate Hillary Clinton, as first lady, was actually a NAFTA supporter.
The documents reveal she held at least five meetings to strategize about how to win congressional approval. She helped the White House block opposition from labor and environmental groups, and she was the featured speaker at a crucial meeting on November 10, 1993, where 120 women opinion leaders were asked to help lobby the Senate for passage of the deal.
According to ABC News, participants in that event said—quote—
“Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA,” and—quote—“There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time.”
NAFTA is a huge problem for Ohio so Hillary lied and contradicted White House documents just to win the Ohio primary.
Hillary has proven she will do anything to get elected.
Bill Clinton lied yesterday in Frankfort when he said Obama wants to disenfranchise the people of Fl. & Mi.
President Clinton's 12 year old lie got him impeached.
I think Hillary will be hurt by her grand lie because the voters do not want to hire a president that lies to them and she has proven, in this election cycle, that she lies to the people of this country.
Mark, I wish you would do a piece on TV and your blog about Hillary's role on NAFTA and add in that the letter from the Prime Minister of Canada saying what SHE told them recently about NAFTA.
If you ask me, I consider this stance by the Governor to be a VERY SMART move.

I'm a lifelong Democrat and I would never, ever consider voting for anybody who was associated with Jerry Lundergan. The Clintons have led their ducks to a poisoned pond in Kentucky.
