Hillary is the strongest Democratic Candidate in the race. She will defeat McCain in the general election. She has won almost all the states that we need to win in the fall election.
It must be remembered that caucuses are not nearly as representative as primaries. Not one soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan has had the opportunity to vote for a democrat for president in a state where there are caucuses. Is that not ironic or what? Old people and many working people who have kids at home cannot attend caucuses for 2 hours.
If a nominee does not have the delegates to win, the national vote should be used. Also, if the Democrats ignore Florida and Michigan there are doing so at their own peril.
This appears to be one of those times when Kentucky has no pride in its own. Barack Obama is the 7th great grandson of Col. James Lewis Hickman 1724-1816 and Hannah Lewis. Col. Hickman served in the Revolutionary War for which he received a land grant in Kentucky. He died in Paris, Clark Co. Kentucky. Obama's 7th great grand uncle Richard Hickman 1757-1832 served in the 1799 Kentucky Constituional Convention and later represented Clark County as its first legislative representative from 1793 to 1798. Betwen 1812 and 1816 he was Lt. Governor of Kentucky under Isaac Shelby. An Obama cousin, Gustavus Woodson Smith of Georgetown in Scott County, served as a Confederate general. Gen. Smith's brief command of the Army of Northern Virginia, after Gen. Joseph E. Johnston was wournded, was followed by the commande of Gen. Robert E. Lee.
