The RPK complaint cites several points in claiming that the BFF was just a "front" for donors to make extra contributions to the Beshear campaign. BFF raised about $3 million to bash Ernie Fletcher in a series of TV ads. Many of the donors to the BFF were the same as folks who donated to Beshear's campaign and his inauguration, including casino operator Bill Yung who gave $1 million to the fund. Beshear has repeatedly denied that there was any coordination between his campaign and the BFF, which is a 527 committee and is supposed to be independent.
