I don't see an "all star" line up here: just disappointed that Pat Day would be part of this event after all of the good work he does with the Racetrack Chaplaincy. Sadly, some of the people in that room (AND ON THE "ALL STAR" LIST) for this event will have political bullseyes on the very people Mr. Day's chaplaincy serves: poor people with no health insurance, immigrants, and those in need of better workers' compensation. The backside also consists of hard working people, some who struggle with addiction, and many, many non-English speaking people. The KY Republicans seem to gravitate to immigration issues with a lustry hatred of people who aren't white, middle class and speaking KY English. I hope Pat Day reminds them that ALL people are under GOD and not those whom the Republicans deem "worthy."

Well, I don't think I would call them "All Stars" either, but they're local celebs of sorts.

As for the Republicans hating everybody, I think that's just so much hyperbode. I don't think Republicans, Kentucky or otherwise, hate anyone (the same can be said for most Democrats I know too).

Yes, like close to 90% of the entire US population, they believe English should be the primary language and that illegal immigration is a serious issue. True, many Republicans are White or Euro American, if you discount Cubans and many Asians who have a strong Republican represenation.

Personally, I think it's good that college students are active in politics regardless of their political stripe.

Flame,
I thought you might have done yourself in from too much celebrating(after the governor's Race). It is fun watching the Dems devouring their own. I don't konw who enjoys it more.....Me or David Williams. Yes Flame, God even loves state bureaucrats.

I was at the dinner last night, It was a fun affair. Scott Jennings gave an energetic speech about the importance of re-electing Mitch. Geoff Davis talked about the defeatist democratic strategy. Anne Northup was given several Standing ovations.

These are people of substance....they are not dependent on the public trough.
