House Speaker Jody Richards said today that SB 40, which requires abortion providers to show pregnant women an ultrasound before they have an abortion, isn't going anywhere in the House. Richards told reporters that Sen. Jack Westwood's bill doesn't have enough votes to get out of the House Judiciary Committee which is chaired by Rep. Kathy Stein. Richards says he's not blocking the bill from coming up for a vote. The bill also requires submission of a document verifying that the abortion provider showed the ultrasound. Not following the law could result in a fine of up to $100,000 for a first offense. Rep. Stein says she believes the bill is aimed at trying to intimidate women who want an abortion and may violate federal health information privacy laws. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

GOOD RIDDANCE TO THAT RIDICULOUS BILL!
I guess if the bill was not aborted, it would have grown up to be a full blown bill!
