My wife and I hadn't seen the West Baden Springs Hotel near French Lick, Ind. since it had been renovated and reopened. Lisa wanted to check it out so that's what she got for her birthday, a night at West Baden. Omigod. That's my teenage kids' lingo for Oh my God! This place is unbelievable! It's the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and will probably ever stay in. If you haven't seen the photos, check them out on line. This is the historic hotel with the giant dome. That's the open air lobby area. It's 110 feet high and at least that wide in diameter. We enjoyed just sitting in this open air area listening to the duet playing tunes. Downstairs, I fell asleep at the indoor pool and hot tub. The rooms are huge. And if you're in to casinos, the French Lick Hotel and Casino is about a mile away. We had a great stay there a couple years ago and it's about half the price of West Baden. We'll go back and probably take the kids, though there's not alot for them to do at West Baden.
