Thieneman Running for Congress
The bull in the china shop wants to take on John Yarmuth. A spokesperson for Chris Thieneman says the Louisville developer will run for congress this year.
Thieneman is out of the country, but left word through his secretary that he's definitely running, now that Erwin Roberts has withdrawn from the race. Thieneman and Roberts are both republicans.
Thieneman has become a bit of a folk hero among some republicans, repeatedly taking on Mayor Jerry Abramson and leading the charge against the proposed library tax last fall. That tax referendum failed by a 2:1 margin. Thieneman was contemplating a run for Metro Council against Bob Henderson but has apparently switched gears now that the congressional race has opened up. Anne Northup has also expressed interest in running for her old seat so it will be interesting to see how this shakes out once Thieneman gets back in the country.

He doesn't have a chance against Yarmuth.
He could take out Bob Henderson in a heartbeat. The Valley Station district is very unhappy with Bob and Thienemans renegade challenge of Mayor Jerry plays perfectly in that district

He had a better chance in the District 14 Metro Council race. He could help out the Southwest County and be a thorn in Abramson's side too.
