Jackson won't provide any further details. But it seems logical that if Northup is making an announcement in Frankfort, it's because she's going to walk into the Secretary of State's office and file to run for office, presumably Congress. When I interviewed Northup last week she seemed excited about the possibility of running to get her old job back. But first she'll have to beat a couple of republican opponents in the 3rd District primary, including developer Chris Thieneman who officially announced his candidacy for congress today. Northup lost her bid for reelection to John Yarmuth in 2006 then turned around and lost the 2007 GOP primary for governor to Ernie Fletcher.
