Candidate News UPDATED

Here's some news about Northup, Thieneman and Heleringer.

Anne Northup wants to run for congress, but hasn't made a final decision according to folks close to her. The biggest question for Northup is, can she raise the kind of money she'll need to win? Northup can no longer rely on donors giving money to her because she's on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. And she could run into an expensive primary race against Chris Thieneman who has no allegiance to anyone in the Jefferson County Republican Party.

Thieneman is planning a news conference tomorrow to announce his candidacy for congress. The news conference is planned for a south Louisville bingo hall. Smart. Thieneman is trying to portray himself as the only candidate who represents the blue collar, working class, south end voters who he believes feel disenfranchised from local government and politics.

And on friday, former state rep. Bob Heleringer has planned a news conference to announce his candidacy for.............I don't know for sure because I couldn't open his e-mailed news release. But I believe he'll announce the same thing I first told you about last year....Heleringer is running for state senate and the seat currently held by Tim Shaughnessy.

UPDATE: Heleringer is, indeed, running for the 19th district Senate seat held by Shaughnessy. Here's part of his release:
“I want to return to elected public office and help Louisville and Jefferson County overcome the disparity between the amount of tax dollars we are sending to Frankfort and the return of those tax dollars we are currently realizing. We have overwhelming needs in education, infrastructure, and economic development. As a member of the Senate majority, I will be perfectly positioned to get our needs met,” said Heleringer

To My fellow Louisville Over Taxed Payers

Robert DeVore Jr. I am a candidate for US. Congress , 3rd district in the State of Kentucky on the Republican ticket. I am progressive conservative first, then Republican second. I am here to represent the true tax paying working class citizens. The folks living in the third district is very displease with our current US representative and are ready for a change. They want someone who can relate with them. Who has worked most of their life in the blue collared world, pay taxes. Be a community leader.
In 2006, I ran as a candidate for State Senate in district 16 against Mr. David Williams and lost in the primary I made a promise to my wife Donna , If I lose in the primaries I would move back to Louisville . I keep my promises , even the one’s that are not in my favor. I retired from Navy reserves in 1999. Served as School board member for six years in the McCreary County school system. I am employed at UPS Change Solution on Outer loop, 2nd Shift. My priorities are listed below.

Goals:
1. Smaller government
2. Cut pork barrel spending
3. Separate the Society Security System from the General Federal Budget
4. Primary language English in the areas of oral and written
5. Strong National Defense
6. Strong national boarder and simulate legal immigrants in to our way of life and be tax paying American’s.
7. Use free market System and non government resources to assist in find answers to the health care, social security system problems and less government regulations.
8. Change the date on general voting election to the day before tax paying deadline.

Be Blessed
Bob D
