Miller Responds to "Hurtful Innuendos"
State Finance Secretary Jonathan Miller says he's a happily married man and he's tackling what he calls "hurtful innuendos" head on.
Former State Treasurer Miller has been the source of all sorts of speculation since Saturday, when the Lexington Herald-Leader reported that the same woman whose salary went from $21,000 to $79,000 in seven years, also went on a trip to Las Vegas with Miller in May. Today, the State Personnel Cabinet concluded that two of the raises that Brooke Parker got were not 'paperworked" correctly but could be fixed by giving her an ACE Award instead. Those are bonuses and bumps in pay given to state employees who do a good job.
