McConnell Has Lowest Job Approval Ever
Senator Mitch McConnell's job approval rating is the lowest its been since Survey USA and WHAS-TV began polling on the issue.
According to the poll taken Nov. 9-11, McConnell's job approval rating is 44%, disapproval is 47% with 9% not sure. McConnell's approval rating is just one point lower than last month but his disapproval number is 4 points higher. Both are within the margin of error.
McConnell's job approval rating is lowest in his hometown of Louisville and 15 surrounding counties where just 40% of those polled think McConnell is doing a good job. Western Kentucky continues to be a McConnell stronghold where 49% approve of his job performance while just 36% disapprove. A whopping 15% of western Kentuckians aren't sure.
The lower numbers for McConnell could reflect one of two things: The independent ad campaigns targeting McConnell are working or McConnell's rating is simply falling like the rest of Congress.
McConnell was already running his own 60 second TV ads when the poll was taken.
The senior senator from Kentucky still has no idea who he might face in his reelection bid next year. An unknown Prospect doctor has filed to run but none of the "big name" democrats like Crit Luallen, Greg Stumbo or Andrew Horne have made a decision.

It is amazing that even 44 percent think McConnell does a good job as Senator. McConnell's real legacy are nasty political ads and raising vulgar amounts of money. His senate seat does not belong to the people of Kentucky. It belongs to the highest bidder!

looks like Snitch will need every penny he can raise - maybe the voters are getting wise to his tricks

Brett Hall screaming on his blog that this Survey/USA poll flawed, too. I wonder if he was the one handling the internal polling for the Fletcher campaign because they kept telling everyone, "our internal polls show the race much closer." So, they thought that 18 points was close? That being said, a real shame that 9 million dollars is the size of a Senator's campaign fund. Makes you wonder who has paid for a piece of McConnell, and there is NO WAY, that benefits any regular, working class Kentuckian. I wonder why people keep this self absorbed, manipulative, and greedy monster in office. This is the man who believes corporations and the modern day aristocracy have more of a say in election politics than the average citizen. This is WHY he continues to oppose campaign finance reforms. In keeping the fundraising wide open, he silences the chance that a good person who wants to make a difference by running for office, but does not want to sell out and become a fundraising money whore. That is what describes it!

I don't think it's the ads. I think it's his lockstep march to the Bush regime. Congressional approval is in the low teens and it's mainly due to their poor performance. Mitch has lead the obstruction and has refused to listen to the voters concerns over the War on Fear.
It will take a strong candidate with deep pockets to topple Mitch but I'll be there to toss my pebble.
