Kentucky Politicians Picking Prez Candidates

12:18 PM Mon, Nov 26, 2007 |

The only surprise I see among the Kentucky endorsements in the presidential race is that more republicans aren't backing Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

Among the republican hopefuls, Huckabee is the one guy who's run a state and not engaged in massive flip flopping. And Kentuckians love the power of their governors. Of course, Kentucky endorsements mean little in the primary races because Kentucky likely won't play any role in determining each party's nominees because our primary election is so late in the process. Here's Alessi's column.

[the link to Alessi's column doesn't work]

People in KY picking a presidential candidate is like picking a super bowl winner in March after the game has been played. It is kind of meaningless.

Ernie ensured that nobody in KY will be backing another baptist preacher governor with ethical lapses. I look to see Ernie supporting Huckabee.
