The AFL-CIO and Governor Fletcher's former press secretary have new polls out that tell us what we'd expect a poll from those respective groups to say. The AFL-CIO poll was done by Peter Hart and polled households with links to labor unions. Not surprisingly, the poll found that 64% of those polled will likely vote for Steve Beshear, 17% will likely vote for Ernie Fletcher. The bad news in this poll might actually be for Beshear. Only 51% of the union-affiliated respondents say they will "definitely" vote for Beshear. 16% are undecided. The poll also found union members have a good view of Beshear, but don't know a whole lot about him. While Fletcher claims on the campaign trail that he helped rescue Ford Motor Company's two plants in Louisville, union leaders don't like his effort to repeal the prevailing wage law and support of right-to-work legislation. Meanwhile, the poll commissioned by Fletcher's former press secretary, Brett Hall and his web site www.kypolitics.org found Beshear and Fletcher tied at 42% with 16% undecided. The poll was heavily weighted toward independents and can, in my view, be dismissed out of hand. Not even Fletcher believes those numbers. Another poll commissioned by WTVQ-TV and the Lexington Herald-Leader is scheduled to be released tonight. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

How dumb does Hall think we are? This is why he's Fletcher's "former" communications director. When you're cut from the B Team, well, that says everything.
Fletcher and his economic development cabinet have done a lot to keep Ford Motor in Louisville. Also GM is expanding in Bowling Green. Economics incentives played a key role.
