The latest approval ratings for Kentucky's U.S. Senators shows Mitch McConnell's rating has actually gone up in the past month, despite a flurry of McConnell bashing TV ads by anti-war groups. The Survey USA/WHAS 11 News poll of 600 Kentucky adults shows McConnell's approval rating inched up to 51% in September. But the spread between McConnell's approval and disapproval (51-40) is 11 points, a solid jump from last month when it was 7 points (50-43). The polling shows McConnell made the biggest gains among folks who identified themselves as "independents", going from 40% in August up to 48% this month. A couple of other interesting tidbits: 69% of Kentuckians believe global warming is real. Governor Fletcher has refused to answer the question of whether he thinks global warmiing is scientific fact. And 74% of Kentuckians don't think the U.S. needs to reinstate a military draft. Here's the link to the Survey USA poll. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

soooo.... I guess its not worth noting the extremely disproportionate % of Republicans polled in this one, eh? Or the tracking numbers that show his numbers have plummeted among moderates this year?
just saying...
Um, as blogger Matt Gunnerman pointed at at Ditch Mitch the Independent section of the survey had a margin of error of ± 12.3%, so you can't tell anything by the increase you cite. Also, as Gunnerman says, the polling does show that where the anti-McConnell ads are playing, his numbers are staying down. Very few ads have played in the Evansville, Nashville, Bowling Green, or Paducah markets.
