Stumbo May Be Serious, Charlie May Be Out

It looks like Greg Stumbo is either really serious about running for U.S. Senate or he's really enjoying the attention and the thought of gigging Mitch McConnell.

There's now a website being set up to support Stumbo's "testing of the waters" in the U.S. Senate race. The website is not up and running yet. It's the other democrats who are showing interest and not showing interest that is more entertaining right now. Thanks to a democratic blogger friend of mine, I now have the website where folks can go to encourage Andrew Horne to run for U.S. Senate. Horne lost the democratic primary for 3rd District congress to John Yarmuth. But the Louisville attorney and Marine veteran has been a vocal opponent of the war in Iraq and has helped groups like MoveOn.org do TV scripts and commercials against republican candidates and President Bush. If Horne is seriously considering running for U.S. Senate, and I don't know that he is, it would likely mean Charlie Owen is no longer considering the race. Horne and Owen share some of the same advisors and it's unlikely the two would run against each other.

Horne is Lt. Col. in the Marines.

He'd make a terrible, unknown candidate.

The Stumbo website is a dead link.
